How to Adjust the Reclining Tension on a Lazy Boy Recliner By Tony Barrett

Adjustment of tension in the Lazy Boy Recliner allows you to set the tension on the mechanism Reclining best to respond to individual size and strength. If you find it difficult to push or pull the lever to the position Reclining you might want to reduce the tension. If you are a person in a higher weight or more, then you may want to increase tensions Reclining mechanism.

The lazy boy recliners equipped with a pair of wing nuts or thumb at the bottom of the wheelchair that lets you adjust the tension Reclining mechanism. First make sure that the foot rest is closed, the seats tilt forward so that is located on the tips of the arms from the top and back so you can see under the seat.

To reduce the tension turn the wing nut or thumb wheel clockwise one quarter turn on the two sides. Returning to the chair upright position and test the new settings. Repeat the steps listed here if needed adjustments.

Tighten or loosen the adjustment did not wing nut or thumb wheel all the way or you can damage the spring tension. Spring that should not move on the bolts after adjustment. If not, make sure you turn the wing nut clockwise or thumb wheel at least one half turn after tightening it so that water does not move anymore. And should not really be a compressed spring after adjustment. If this happens, when loosen the wheel nuts or thumb at least one half-turn clockwise to prevent damage to spring tension.

Do not forget to adjust the wing nut or thumb wheel of the same.
